Something Fun!!!

Lately my posts have sounded sad. I want to express that I have had circumstances in life that are less than desirable, but through it all I recognize that GOD is GOOD and that He is in the midst of it all. I completely trust His Sovereign plan for my life.

Every morning during my time in the word, I struggle read through the Old Testament, then some of the New and then quite a bit of Psalms and finally onto Proverbs. No matter what my selected reading is for the day, I cherish ending on the note of some Psalms and then a Proverb.

So, for the "something fun" part: I want you (the reader) to leave a comment of your own Psalm or Proverb. I want to hear you cry out to God in your life's circumstances just like David or Asaph. If you need to think about it and come back, please do, because I'd love to hear them!!! I accept anonymous comments :)

Fun, huh? Once I think of a great one, I might even leave a comment on my own!!!

O Gracious Father God, LORD of heaven and earth. You alone are worthy of worship. How foolish I am when I let my mind wander to another place for peace or comfort. It is such a waste, for You alone are the Prince of peace. How thankful I am that I have been chosen to be the daughter of the King Who has given to me everything I need for life and godliness. May my mind continually dwell on these things. May the imaginations of my heart and mind be formed by the truths of Your Word, and taken captive by Your Holy Spirit. In the hard times of life (which seem to be the order of this day and age - as You have said that in the last days perilous times will come) I so want there to be no other response from me than to trust in You with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding.

There are so many times when I think we wish away life's circumstances, or God's soverign plans. We wish away the sins of others or our own sin when God intends to use them to shape us and glorify his son through them. We are all cracked in some way or another.

I've been experiencing God's redemption through him filling in my cracks through making those hard circumstances an actual part of me instead of wishing them away. I've been learning that I am most satisfied when the Son is most glorified in my life- and the only way he is most glorified is through sin, pain, and sorrow. What a need we have for the Savior, Jesus Christ!

So, I am thankful. Thankful for his redemption. Thankful for his soverignty. Thankful that His Son is most glorified through his plan. Thankful that I am most satisfied. That gives my faith a backbone and a my heart peace.

If only I could be addicted to You, Lord. I want that to be what I desire on my own. My natural desires take me to things on earth. I want to be freed from the nature that lives within me. How long, Lord? In Your Presence all else fades away. Your work seems to big. Be my help.

Oh, my God, may all that I do and all that I say, may everything I am be for Your glory!
I know I am nothing without You. There is nothing of value that can come from my mouth apart from You, Lord.
Be the center of my life.
Be the beat of my heart.
Be glorified in me, Father.
Not to me, but to Your name be the glory!
