My First 10k!!!

I found out the day of this event that I'd be running in a 10k that night. That's the way I like it! Not too long to be nervous. It was called the Downtown Dash and it was at night! I really enjoyed it and will probably plan to do more.... now that I have the first race ever under my belt. I feel funny calling it a race as a 10 minute mile isn't really a race pace. But, it was good enough for me after my mere six weeks of running!!!

Way to go!! Goal setting and accomplishing are always helpful in not getting run over by life.........as it passes you by!! I have enjoyed watching the "new you" emerge!!

Girl, I am just impressed! I found an article on "walking to running" in Prevention magazine while I was laid up recovering from my surgery. I have left it open by the coffee maker so that when I am able to run hopefully I will still be fired up about it!

Good for you, Rachel!
You are inspiring me to find a way to get back into running. Maybe I just need better shoes. But I cannot envision myself doing a 10K.
Of course, I used to think I would never want to run again, either...
