I'm still on this topic. I think it is something so large (the elephant in the room) that needs to be talked about. Someone is doing a great job of it on her blog. I won't even try to tackle it like she has. But, if any of you are interested in hearing her insights and different comments that add insight, check it out.
During bible study this morning we were looking at Josiah who was a king that purged Judah of all the idolatry including male cult prostitutes in the house of God, foreign gods in the house of God, child sacrifice and altars. This purging process took 6 years and I was hoping for America to be purged of some of the filth that corrupts our lives. I think addressing this is one of step that can help. You have to purge the sin in your own life before you can receive the Word of God. I have been so drawn to Psalm 119 especially in the New Living Translation. Read it. The Word of the Lord, His Precepts, His Statutes, His Commandments and Ordinances are to be our LIFE. What an amazing gift from the Lord.

hey girl! purging sin can be a lengthy process for sure! so thankful for the saving power of Christ! I love belonging to Him!
I think taking this Precept class and studying God's Word this way is the best thing I have ever done in Bible study! We are studying 1 Peter...love it! I am amazed at how clear my mind is after doing my homework, it's like everything makes sense.
So glad you are keeping up with Jennifer! I asked Andy if he would buy me some pearls for Christmas or my birthday and he said he would! I don't have much jewelery so I am excited!
I miss you!
Any chance you want to try to go to San Antonio next August for a Living Proof Live(Beth Moore) event with me? LPM is organizing a gathering at that event for all of us bloggers to meet each other. Kim(connercolesmom) has reserved 20 rooms and I want to go. It is expensive though, but how awesome would that be?!
Great post! It seems so complicated, but it really is simple! Getting rid of sin first! Thank you for sharing!
Also, thank you for your encouraging words on my blog! You are so sweet and such an inspiration!
Have a great Sunday!
Love,
Angie xoxo
hey there, i'm finally getting caught up on blogs since we are more settled in. thanks for your thoughts on pornography and on how important it is not be in bondage to it or any other form of sin. i actually picked up Nancy Demoss' book after we talked back in August and i'm finding it to be convicting, but good.
btw--so glad you are blogging more; great to stay connected this way. i like your layout with the music, too. i'll have to look into that. i saw that you found my friends, the smiths. they are a great couple we met here in Dallas. we actually did college ministry with them. the moved to IL the same time we did.
would love to see you one day soon. aron and i are hoping to get to OKC one weekend this month to see fam. might be fun to grab dinner or something. i think our hubbies need to meet! :)
oh, can i link your blog to mine? no worries if you would rather i not.
i just found a quote on a friend's blog; it's her "life quote" and i am thinking about adopting it for myself. it seemed right up your alley:
"Ordinary work, which is what most of us do most of the time, is ordained by God every bit as much as is the extraordinary. All work done for God is spiritual work and therefore not merely a duty but a holy privilege." Elizabeth Elliot
