NYC

I've never been to NYC!  So, when something came up that would require Nick to go for work, I was quick to hop on that trip.  I'm so excited to finally go and experience New York.  However, I must say in that very same breath that I am overwhelmed.  Where do I begin?  I've been online and reading everything just makes me wish we could have even more time there.

So, I've resorted to using my blogpost as an outlet for my research.  Please, tell me your best advise on must see's and must do's during our time there.  We will be there mid October.

Oh, and when I went to ask my parents to watch our kiddos while we go, I discovered they'd never been either.  Thankfully we found friends to watch the girls so that the four of us adults can experience it together.

We'd love to see a broadway show and that alone I'm struggling with because of the reviews I've been reading.  I've ALWAYS been told how wonderful Wicked is, so that's the one I was shocked to read something negative about.  Mary Poppins looks great!  Anyone know anything about Jersey Boys or The Book of Mormon?  Any input is appreciated!!!!!

Rachel, I went to NYC during my senior year of high school. We sang in Carnegie Hall. Wow!!! I did NOT want to come home.
We didn't "go" many places. Took a bus tour and had a cruise which took us past the Statue of Liberty. But that's about it. Just the energy of the city was enough to make me happy.
As for a show, I saw Mary Poppins here in MI and LOVED it. That's my vote. :)

No idea what you should do, but my sister and niece would say, "GO SEE WICKED!" They love it. I also know some folks who saw Mary Poppins and said it was great. No matter what you do, I am sure it will be a blast!

Rachel, I have been but too many years ago to help you. But do you know Libby Taggart Unwin? She used to live there when she worked for the same company as Matt.

Also visit the Brooklyn Tabernacle if you can. Today Pedro was talking to a pharmacist who was there last week and went. He could not stop talking about it. I have always wanted to visit after reading some of Jim Cymbala's books. He is the pastor. Esther and Tim introduced us to him years ago.

Have fun and enjoy. Lots to do I am sure.

I used to live in NY... a must for the baked good and pastries is Ferrara's, no matter what time of year you are there... there is always a line out of the door... but it is well worth the wait... get a napolian or canoli... or ANYTHING! :)

you must go to Ferrara's... I used to live in NY... this is "THE" place to go for dessert! There will be a line out of the door, but it is well worth the wait... a napolian or canoli is always amazing... but if you are not sure, have one of your group go inside to get a menu so by the time you are in the front you aren't overwhelmed! :) Have fun! Go down to the museums and on the sidewalks you can purchase some amazing paintings and photographic art for a good price! :)
